The Arena Guru's Waiver Roundup

By Scott Lange
June 5, 2007

This is the final Waiver Roundup of the season. I hope everyone enjoyed success on the wire and I enjoyed getting your emails.

Hank Edwards WR Tampa Bay (8 catches for 134 yards, 3 TDs)

Edwards replaced a disgruntled T.T. Toliver who was release by the Storm last week. Edwards looked great catching passes from QB Brett Dietz, as the Storm offense scored 61 points. Edwards has the potential to be very productive within the Storm offense along with Terrill Shaw, and Lawrence Samuls. QB Brett Dietz is showing everyone right now, that he is the real deal, and with him running the show, the Storm receivers are suddenly looking like must start's each week. If your looking for a third option at WR for your league playoffs, Edwards could be the guy you need to add for a victory.

Wendall Williams WR New Orleans (10 catches for 109 yards, 3 TDs)

Williams has become very involved in the VooDoo offense, and week 14 was his best game yet. Despite the loss, Williams caught 10 passes for 109 yards and three TDs. Williams and receiving mate Tyronne Jones made a usual stout Tampa Bay Storm defense look bad on several occasions last week. Williams caught all three of his TDs in the fourth quarter to lead a furious comeback by the VooDoo that came up just short. The VooDoo offense has been very productive the past few weeks and any VooDoo receiver at this point could be a very good WR3 start. A big plus with Williams is his upcoming schedule. The VooDoo play the high-scoring Dallas Desperados in week 15 and a Wrangler team that has no problems giving up points in week 16. If you need to add some WR depth going into your playoffs, pick up Williams and

Freddie Solomon WR Columbus (8 catches for 71 yards)

Although Freddie has not been able to visit the end zone since joining the Destoyers two weeks ago, he's been very active in the offense, catching 13 passes for 121 yards. Solomon is a veteran receiver of the AFL and should be able to help a young Destroyer team make a push for the playoffs. Solomon had some very productive years while in Tampa, so there's no question this guy's got some talent. Solomon is worth a roster spot, so grab him if you need some help at the WR position for your playoff run.

Seth Marler Kicker Tampa Bay Storm (2 for 2 FGs, 7 for 8 XPs)

With two more field goals made this week, Marler has now made seven field goals in the last five weeks. He has quickly become a solid option at the kicker position and should be started for your fantasy playoffs. Marler could be in for a big week in week 15 against a Soul team that does not give up a lot of points. The Storm will need to rely on Marler next week to put some points on the board. If Marler is available on your wire, pick him up and start him with confidence.
