2007 Player Rankings for Week 7

by Simon McGrother
April 11, 2007

Week 6 is in the books. More blowouts than usual means that we have quite a few true duds this week and some people hurtling downhill in their rankings. Biggest gainers of the week were the San Jose offense, cementing their high rankings with an awesome victory over Colorado. Grand Rapids and New York both scored well, Davey and Sailsbury move up the rankings with their good performances. Chicago (BYE) continue to click offensively and consequently we have a new top dog in the WR ranks. Georgia bounced back in impressive style to leave Dallas the only perfect team.

  1. Joe Germaine, Utah
  2. Chris Griesen, Georgia
  3. Clint Dolezel, Dallas
  4. Mark Grieb, San Jose

  16. Matt Nagy, Columbus
  17. Jeff Smoker, Nashville
  18. Shaun King, Las Vegas
  19. Stoney Case, Tampa Bay
  20. Micheal Bishop, Grand Rapids

Another good week for the mid-tier QBs, the big boys all put up good numbers too, but the eye-catching performances were dominated by QBs who did not get snapped up early in the fantasy draft. Adrian McPherson of Austin threw for 6 and trotted in for a couple more TDs as the Wranglers quenched the Blaze. In the New York/Grand Rapids game both Rohan Davey and the returning Chad Salisbury scored 8 (7 pass, 1 rush for Davey, 8 pass for Salisbury). Jeff Smoker threw for 6 and rushed for one TD, but also had 5 intercepted (although Jeff's blushes were spared on 2 of these due to penalties). John Dutton confirmed his descent from automatic choice with a meager 189yds and 3TDs and that is with Damian Harrell to throw to! Shaun King also disappointed with only 3TDs and a pair of picks against the Brigade.

  1. Bobby Sippio, Chicago (BYE)
  2. Siaha Burley, Utah
  3. Ben Nelson, San Jose
  4. Will Pettis, Dallas
  5. Troy Bergeron, Georgia
  6. Chris Jackson, Georgia

  12. Mike Horacek, New York
  13. Cornelius Bonner, Nashville
  14. James Roe, San Jose
  15. Randy Gatewood, Arizona (IR)
  16. Derek Lee, Georgia
  17. Trandon Harvey, Arizona
  18. Timon Marshall, Grand Rapids
  19. Kevin Prentiss, Las Vegas (IR)
  20. Charles Pauley, Philadelphia
  21. Jeremiah Pope, Arizona
  22. Damian Groce, Columbus
  23. Sean Scott, Philadelphia
  24. Kevin Nickerson, Austin
  25. Rodney Wright, San Jose
  26. TT Toliver, Tampa Bay
  27. Javarus Dudley, Orlando
  28. Andy McCullough, Chicago (BYE)
  29. Lenzie Jackson, Los Angeles
  30. Willie Quinnie, Colorado
  31. Kenny Higgins, Nashville
  32. DeAndrew Rubin, Orlando
  33. Jimmy Fryzel, Orlando
  34. Terrance Quattlebaum, Las Vegas
  35. Jerel Myers, Kansas City
  36. Kenny Henderson, New Orleans
  37. Aaron Boone, Utah
  38. Ryan Dennard, Utah

  40. Lawrence Samuels, Tampa Bay
  41. Anthony Hines, Austin
  42. Tyronne Jones, New Orleans
  43. David Saunders, Columbus
  44. Etu Molden, Las Vegas
  45. Jacques Rumph, New Orleans
  46. Rob Turner, Los Angeles
  47. Kevin Swayne, New York
  48. Kevin McKenzie, Arizona
  49. Otis Amey, Austin
  50. Brad Pyatt, Colorado
  51. Alonzo Nix, Nashville
  52. Andrae Thurman, Dallas

  54. Demetris Bendross, Tampa Bay
  55. Chris Anthony, New York
  56. James Jordan, New Orleans
  57. Orshwante Bryant, Utah
  58. Sam Simmons, Kansas City
  59. Robert Redd, Colordao
  60. Josh Bush, Columbus
  61. Jerome Riley, Grand Rapids
  62. Marcus Knight, Columbus
  63. Curtis Fagan, Arizona

Bobby Sippio takes over at the top after yet another mammoth performance for the Rush. Damian Harrell slips further down the list as Colorado's woes continue. An impressive debut for Terrance Quattlebaum of Las Vegas catching all 3 of Shaun King's TD passes, in Kevin Prentiss' absence he might be a very useful waiver addition. Charles Frederick of Kansas City continues his excellent season and is league's leading double threat in the top 10 for both rushing and receiving. Timon Marshall looked happy to see Chad Salisbury back under center, he caught 3 TDs, returned for more than 100yds and rushed for a further 10. Monster day for Mike Horacek for New York, he is Rohan Davey's go-to receiver and should be firmly established as a starter in your lineup.

  1. Dan Alexander, Nashville
  2. Bo Kelly, Arizona
  3. Robert Thomas, Colorado
  4. Josh White, Dallas
  5. Lonnie Ford, Los Angeles
  6. Torrance Marshall, Tampa Bay
  7. Ja'Mar Toombs, New York
  8. Chris Ryan, Grand Rapids
  9. Brian Johnson, San Jose
  10. Wes Ours, Philadelphia
  11. Dan Curran, New Orleans (IR)
  12. Marlon Moye-Moore, Orlando
  13. Harold Wells, Columbus
  14. Dawan Moss, Kansas City
  15. Idris Price, New Orleans
  16. Bob McMillen, Chicago (BYE)
  17. Josh Rue, Las Vegas
  18. Kevin Nagle, Orlando
  19. John Richter, Georgia
  20. Chad Dukes, Austin
  21. Kevin Clemens, Utah
  22. Frank Carter, Utah
  23. Byron Douzart, Kansas City

Dan Alexander only added one TD to his season haul - but remains by far the best FB in the league. Bob McMillen added a new dimension to his threat by throwing a TD pass. Lonnie Ford went big with a pair of rushing scores in LA's win over the Rattlers. Matching Ford's feat was Brian Johnson of San Jose, but going one better was "find of the season" Torrance Marshall: Torrance is an LB forced to do the rushing for Tampa when they lost their MVP Rodney Filer for the season. In 2 games he has rushed for 6TDs - only 4 FBs have more rushing scores on the season - remarkable effort.

  1. Rashad Floyd, Colorado
  2. Chris D. Brown, New Orleans
  3. Eddie Moten, Philadelphia
  4. Hamin Milligan, Georgia
  5. Lin-J Shell, Orlando
  6. DeJuan Alfonzo, Chicago (BYE)
  7. Jeroid Johnson, Tampa Bay
  8. Nate Coggins, Austin
  9. Clevan Thomas, San Jose
  10. Willie Gary, Georgia
  11. Brandon Hefflin, Columbus
  12. Jonathan Ordway, Chicago (BYE)
  13. Terrance Joseph, Utah
  14. Dennison Robinson, Chicago (BYE)
  15. Damen Wheeler, Los Angeles
  16. Rober' Freeman, Columbus
  17. Keyuo Craver, Arizona
  18. Jeremy Unertl, Chicago (BYE)
  19. Joseph Todd, Arizona
  20. Jermaine Jones, Dallas
  21. DaShane Dennis, Kansas City
  22. Monty Montgomery, Nashville
  23. Damon Mason, Austin
  24. Arnold Parker, Los Angeles
  25. Omarr Smith, San Jose
  26. Alex Wallace, New Orleans
  27. Billy Parker, New York
  28. Chris Brown, Dallas
  29. Mike Brown, Philadelphia
  30. Chris Pointer, Orlando
  31. Clarence Lawson, Utah
  32. Angel Estrada, Grand Rapids
  33. David Crocker, Georgia
  34. Delvin Hughley, Colorado
  35. Denario Smalls, Kansas City
  36. Reggie Doster, Grand Rapids
  37. Chuck Wesley, Grand Rapids
  38. Kenny McEntyre, Kansas City
  39. Ahmad Hawkins, Nashville
  40. Kelvin Hunter, New Orleans
  41. Antuan Simmons, Los Angeles
  42. Thal Woods, Nashville
  43. William Haith, New Orleans
  44. Earthwind Moreland, Las Vegas
  45. Johnnie Harris, Philadelphia
  46. Todd Howard, Chicago (BYE)
  47. Ryan Bowers, Orlando
  48. Calvin Spears, New Orleans
  49. Kevin Moffett, Utah
  50. Chris Angel, New York

Once again, bow down in awe of Rashad Floyd 14.5 tackles and an interception. Rashad was, by some distance, the best defensive player in the league when his team had a good offense. Now that the Crush have lost their way he is seeing more action and setting dizzying new standards. Jeroid Johnson of Tampa Bay was a big part of their first win, 8 tackles and an interception for a TD. Another defender who made a contribution to a big win was Omarr Smith of San Jose who led the SaberCats with 6 tackles and added a pick to his collection.

  1. Mark Lewis, Austin
  2. Todd Sievers, Dallas
  3. A. J. Haglund, San Jose
  4. Brian Gowins, Grand Rapids
  5. Steve Videtich, Utah
  6. Steve Azar, Las Vegas
  7. Todd France, Philadelphia
  8. Gary Kral, Arizona
  9. Dan Frantz, Chicago (BYE)
  10. Carter Warley, New York
  11. Jason Ball, Colorado
  12. Eric Houle, New Orleans
  13. Remy Hamilton, Los Angeles
  14. Peter Martinez, Columbus
  15. Jason Witczak, Nashville
  16. Jay Taylor, Orlando
  17. Xavier Beitia, Georgia
  18. Seth Marler, Tampa Bay
  19. Clay Rush, Kansas City

Steve Videtich missed a FG which would have won the game for Utah, and worse still missed the extra point which ended up being the difference between the two teams. Moving in the opposite direction is Dan Frantz of Chicago (BYE) who, after failing to score 50 points in either of the first two weeks of the season, have averaged 62ppg since. Dan has certainly had his share of these points and should be a starter for you. And we did mention Carter Warley was one to watch. If New York can continue its offensive resurgence Carter has the kind of accuracy that will make him a very good scorer.
