2007 Player Rankings for Week 11
by Simon McGrother May 9, 2007
Week 10 is history, and favorites again tended to have their way, but several of them were run pretty close. Utah and Dallas fought out a close one with the 'rados taking it by 7, primarily thanks to a huge performance by Marcus Nash. Orlando were hugely disappointing in scoring only 34 against the previously porous Force defense. The Preds had seemed on the verge of becoming a serious playoff contender, but such optimism now seems misplaced. The Rampage scored 71 for the 2nd straight week and crushed the Katz, who have now lost 5 of their last 6.

Another big week for Chad Salisbury with 282 yds and 7 scores as the Rampage offense continues to click. He's moved up the rankings but week 11 sees a visit to Columbus who are conceding only 47ppg, so weigh up your options before confirming your week 11 team. Great week for Sonny Cumbie who took the opportunity of playing the Gladiators to throw 6 TDs and almost 300 yds. In the same game Brian Jones impressed again throwing 300 yds and only 3 scores, but those were supplemented by 2 running TDs. All the usual suspects had solid games but a shout out to Brett Dietz who's excellent figures suggest that the Storm may have been being held back by Kaleo. If you are desperate, pick-up Lang Campbell who'll be starting for Austin now that Adrian McPherson has been kicked to the curb. |

Derrick Lewis was one of only a handful of receivers to go for more than 3 scores in week 10. Derrick's a quality choice and the best of the mediocre bunch in Austin, but he is 12th in the league in both TDs and yardage, which makes him an awkward fantasy fit. If he is your first choice receiver you'd better have Chris Griesen and Rashad Floyd propping up your season. Just one place behind Derrick in TDs (and one place above in yardage) is Marcus Nash who had the week that those who gambled on a 1st round pick were banking on. His 6 scores and 134 yds constitute a monster day, but even factoring this in his average is only 2 TDs per game. The likes of Siaha Burley, Chris Jackson and Bobby Sippio are yielding more than 3 visits to the endzone every weekend. Monday saw a masterclass in receiving from Bobby Sippio and Damian Harrell. |

Another busy week for Marlon Moye-Moore who added all kinds of value (tackles, interception, catches) to his 2 rushing TDs. Lonnie Ford again had 2 scores for LA and is now second in the league for rushing TDs. On the same number of TDs (in only half the games) is Torrance Marshall who continues his record of scoring multiple TDs in every start as FB, 3 this week. Matt Huebner and Harold Wells round out the list of >1 rushing TDs in week 10. |

Rashad Floyd had a very big fantasy week, but unfortunately for the Crush all his tackling was not enough to stop Bobby Sippio from leading the Rush to victory. The Rush DBs take turns being outstanding (to confound the fantasy owners), this week Dennison Robinson was top dog with 9 tackles, a pick and a fumble recovery. Eddie Canonico made the Gladiators regret trading him to the Avengers as he racked up a dozen tackles against his former teammates. Eddie was ably assisted by Damen Wheeler who also had a great game. Lastly Jeroid Johnson was a beast for the Storm adding 2 picks, one for a score, to his 7 tackles - life in the storm yet?

Seth Marler is not a name that gets mentioned too often, unless a really funny joke about the Storm just demands it, but he kicked 9/9 xp and a FG this week, so drags himself off the bottom of the scoring charts. Tampa Bay really do seem to have weathered (oh no!) the worst of the season and may be a useful team down the stretch. Brian Gowins is another man benefiting from the improvement in his team. The Rampage have come alive with the return of Chad Salisbury and Gowins, always reliable, is now getting lots of opportunities. |
