2007 Player Rankings for Week 1

The positional rankings are for Arena fantasy football fans who want that extra edge in setting their weekly lineups.

A fantasy player's most recent performances are taken into account, as well as upcoming opponent, injury status and the focus of that player's offense.

  1. John Dutton
  2. Clint Dolezel
  3. Sherdrick Bonner
  4. Shane Stafford
  5. Joe Germaine
  6. Matt D'Orazio
  7. Mark Grieb
  8. Matt Nagy
  9. Sonny Crumbie
  10. Clint Stoerner
  11. Shaun King
  12. John Kaleo
  13. Adrian McPherson
  14. Chad Salisbury
  15. Andy Kelly

John Dutton could well be the stud of the week, throwing oodles of TDs through the thin Colorado air whilst the hapless Grand Rapids defense looks on. Clint Dolezel has one of his tougher match-ups of the season in NY, but with his arm and his improved (yes, improved) receiving corps it's hard to see him being anything less than stellar. Sherdrick Bonner and his Arizona Rattlers are extremely strong with home-field advantage and he'll have a good day against Georgia. Joe Germaine features in the list with his increasingly impressive 2006 performances and the visit from the Voodoo unlikely to cause him too many problems.

  1. Siaha Burley
  2. Damien Harrell
  3. Marcus Nash

  9. Lawrence Samuels
  10. Kevin Ingram
  11. Will Pettis
  12. Chris Jackson
  13. Derrick Lewis
  14. Aaron Boone
  15. Mike Horacek
  16. Terrill Shaw
  17. Kevin Nickerson
  18. Damian Groce
  19. Alonzo Nix
  20. Jason Shelley
  21. Timon Marshall
  22. Derek Lee
  23. Kevin Swayne
  24. TT Toliver
  25. Javarus Dudley
  26. Damien Groce
  27. Demetris Bendross
  28. Tony Locke
  29. Anthony Hines
  30. Troy Bergeron
  31. Troy Edwards
  32. Rob Turner
  33. Jerel Myers
  34. Marcus Knight
  35. Jeremiah Pope
  36. Orshwante Bryant
  37. Thabiti Davis
  38. James Jordan
  39. Demetris Bendross
  40. Josh Bush
  41. Chris Anthony
  42. DeAndrew Rubin
  43. David Saunders
  44. Willis Marshall
  45. Curtis Fagan

Whilst it is difficult to predict how much impact the rule changes will have on the fantasy dominance of the erstwhile Offensive Specialists, one thing remains the same - Siaha Burley is a beast and when you feed him expansion teams, he'll dine heartily. Damien Harrell will be similarly rampant on his home turf hosting Grand Rapids. The biggest question mark will be over Marcus Nash. It is well established that he has the skills of a great receiver, joining the super-charged Dallas offense will either catapult him back to the very top of the pile, or confirm the nagging suspicion that his best days are behind him. For now you've got to see him as part of the crème de la crème. Mike Horacek and Kevin Swayne could both suffer with Leon Murray in the lineup (unless it's a smokescreen and Aaron Garcia does play after all). Aaron Boone looks to build some success in Utah with a high-powered offense and Demetris Bendross could be the diamond in the rough this year in Tampa.

  1. Dane Krager, Austin
  2. Phil Glover, San Jose
  3. Marlion Jackson, Las Vegas
  4. Dan Curran, New Orleans
  5. Marlon Moye-Moore, Orlando
  6. Lonnie Ford, Los Angeles
  7. Dan Alexander, Nashville
  8. Duke Pettijohn, Dallas
  9. Harold Wells, Columbus
  10. Rodney Filer, Tampa Bay
  11. Bob McMillen, Chicago
  12. Josh White, Dallas
  13. Frank Carter, Utah
  14. Kevin Aldridge, Georgia
  15. Chad Dukes, Austin
  16. Kevin Clemens, Utah
  17. Dawan Moss, Kansas City
  18. Jarrod Penright, Tampa Bay
  19. Josh Jeffries, Los Angeles
  20. Matt Kisinger, San Jose
  21. Bo Kelly, Arizona
  22. James Lynch, New Orleans
  23. Jeremiah Pharms, New York
  24. John Peaua, Colorado
  25. Kevin Nagle, Orlando
  26. Charles Stackhouse, Las Vegas
  27. Chris Robinson, Utah
  28. Ben Moa, Las Vegas
  29. Chris Ryan, Grand Rapids
  30. Matt Huebner, Georgia

Dane Krager is the most reliable FB in the league, regularly scoring and gathering more yards than most. Marlion Jackson has just signed for the Gladiators, and with half of their off-season acquisitions from the NFL failing to materialize an emphasis on the running game might be in order. Phil Glover should have a good game in the City of Angels where the Avengers hope to rebuild on a disappointing 2006. Dan Curran led the league in rushing in his first season with the Voodoo. While they rebuild the franchise they may again turn to the ground game to control time of possession, keep scores low and themselves in contention going into the 4th quarter.

  1. Rashad Floyd, Colorado
  2. Chris D. Brown, New Orleans
  3. Damon Mason, Austin
  4. Jerald Brown, Columbus
  5. Jermaine Jones, Dallas
  6. Clevan Thomas, San Jose
  7. Hamin Milligan, Georgia
  8. Nate Coggins, Austin
  9. Jonathan Ordway, Grand Rapids
  10. Billy Parker, New York
  11. Monty Montgomery, Nashville
  12. Dahnel Singfield, New York
  13. Jeremy Unertl, Chicago
  14. Brandon Hefflin, Columbus
  15. Damen Wheeler, Los Angeles
  16. Joseph Todd, Arizona
  17. DaShane Dennis, Kansas City
  18. Clarence Lawson, Utah
  19. Jeroid Johnson, Tampa Bay
  20. Omaar Smith, San Jose
  21. Delvin Hughley, Colorado
  22. Denario Smalls, Kansas City
  23. Reggie Doster, Grand Rapids
  24. Willie Gary, Georgia
  25. Kenny McEntyre, Kansas City
  26. Antuan Simmons, Los Angeles
  27. Thal Woods, Nashville
  28. Todd Howard, Chicago
  29. Kelvin Hunter, New Orleans
  30. Kevin Moffett, Utah
  31. D.J. Johnson, Las Vegas
  32. Russell Shaw, Chicago
  33. Rayshun Reed, Orlando
  34. Terrance Joseph, Utah
  35. Thal Woods, Nashville
  36. Floyd Young, Orlando
  37. Earthwind Moreland, Las Vegas
  38. Travis Coleman, Kansas City
  39. Erin Damond, Arizona
  40. B.J. Barre, Columbus

Rashad Floyd is quite simply the best, he is particularly awesome at home and only the fact that the Rampage will run so few offensive plays will keep his tackles down. Chris D. Brown joins the Voodoo, who will probably spend a lot of time this season on defense, giving the former Jacksonville Jaguar a chance to show what he can do. Jerald Brown was the Arena Football League's Defensive Player of the Year in 2006. The Destroyers are likely to be one of best defensive teams in the league again in '07 and Jerald will be a big part of that success. Damon Mason is another stud on the defensive side of the ball &mdash his matchup with the new look Gladiators should have fantasy owners licking their chops.

  1. Remy Hamilton, Los Angeles
  2. Steve Videtich, Utah
  3. Dustin Bell, Dallas
  4. Peter Martinez, Columbus
  5. Jay Taylor, Orlando
  6. Mark Lewis, Austin
  7. A. J. Haglund, San Jose
  8. Keith Gispert, Georgia
  9. Clay Rush, Kansas City
  10. Gary Kral, Arizona
  11. Brian Gowins, Grand Rapids
  12. Jason Ball, Colorado
  13. Dan Frantz, Chicago
  14. Jason Witczak, Nashville
  15. Steve Azar, Las Vegas
  16. Eric Houle, New Orleans

Remy Hamilton is just about the most accurate kicker in the league, the Avengers inability to score TDs routinely means that he picks up more field goals than most of his rivals and he should be top scoring kicker by season's end (as he was in 2006 by almost 30 points). Peter Martinez got a similar boost playing for Grand Rapids: attempting more FGs than any other kicker last year. His move to the better Destroyers may curtail some of his FGs and bring him down amongst the hoi polloi. Steve Videtich is another busy kicker, and opening against the VooDoo should keep those toes warm. Dustin Bell has picked up the job of kicking at Dallas, who score so many touchdowns that he ought to be a regular contributor.
