2007 Player Rankings for Week 1
The positional rankings are for Arena fantasy football fans who want that extra edge in setting their weekly lineups.
A fantasy player's most recent performances are taken into account, as well as upcoming opponent, injury status and the focus of that player's offense.

John Dutton could well be the stud of the week, throwing oodles of TDs through the thin Colorado air whilst the hapless Grand Rapids defense looks on. Clint Dolezel has one of his tougher match-ups of the season in NY, but with his arm and his improved (yes, improved) receiving corps it's hard to see him being anything less than stellar. Sherdrick Bonner and his Arizona Rattlers are extremely strong with home-field advantage and he'll have a good day against Georgia. Joe Germaine features in the list with his increasingly impressive 2006 performances and the visit from the Voodoo unlikely to cause him too many problems. |

Whilst it is difficult to predict how much impact the rule changes will have on the fantasy dominance of the erstwhile Offensive Specialists, one thing remains the same - Siaha Burley is a beast and when you feed him expansion teams, he'll dine heartily. Damien Harrell will be similarly rampant on his home turf hosting Grand Rapids. The biggest question mark will be over Marcus Nash. It is well established that he has the skills of a great receiver, joining the super-charged Dallas offense will either catapult him back to the very top of the pile, or confirm the nagging suspicion that his best days are behind him. For now you've got to see him as part of the crème de la crème. Mike Horacek and Kevin Swayne could both suffer with Leon Murray in the lineup (unless it's a smokescreen and Aaron Garcia does play after all). Aaron Boone looks to build some success in Utah with a high-powered offense and Demetris Bendross could be the diamond in the rough this year in Tampa. |

Dane Krager is the most reliable FB in the league, regularly scoring and gathering more yards than most. Marlion Jackson has just signed for the Gladiators, and with half of their off-season acquisitions from the NFL failing to materialize an emphasis on the running game might be in order. Phil Glover should have a good game in the City of Angels where the Avengers hope to rebuild on a disappointing 2006. Dan Curran led the league in rushing in his first season with the Voodoo. While they rebuild the franchise they may again turn to the ground game to control time of possession, keep scores low and themselves in contention going into the 4th quarter. |

Rashad Floyd is quite simply the best, he is particularly awesome at home and only the fact that the Rampage will run so few offensive plays will keep his tackles down. Chris D. Brown joins the Voodoo, who will probably spend a lot of time this season on defense, giving the former Jacksonville Jaguar a chance to show what he can do. Jerald Brown was the Arena Football League's Defensive Player of the Year in 2006. The Destroyers are likely to be one of best defensive teams in the league again in '07 and Jerald will be a big part of that success. Damon Mason is another stud on the defensive side of the ball &mdash his matchup with the new look Gladiators should have fantasy owners licking their chops. |

Remy Hamilton is just about the most accurate kicker in the league, the Avengers inability to score TDs routinely means that he picks up more field goals than most of his rivals and he should be top scoring kicker by season's end (as he was in 2006 by almost 30 points). Peter Martinez got a similar boost playing for Grand Rapids: attempting more FGs than any other kicker last year. His move to the better Destroyers may curtail some of his FGs and bring him down amongst the hoi polloi. Steve Videtich is another busy kicker, and opening against the VooDoo should keep those toes warm. Dustin Bell has picked up the job of kicking at Dallas, who score so many touchdowns that he ought to be a regular contributor. |
