The Stat Guy's Pickups for Week 8

WR JJ McKelvey - Philadelphia

Week 7 Stat Line: 5 Rec, 81 yds, 1TD

I know I was high on him last week, and the truth is, I got laughed at on Draft Day when I drafted him. And now with the recent release of OS Marcus Knight, the young man is ready to take off! He IS NOW the starting OS for Philly as he replaces Knight. He IS NOW ready to become a major part of the Philly offense. It may be too late to find him on the waiver wire though.

WR DeAndrew Rubin - Orlando

Week 7 Stat Line: 8 rec, 99 yds, 2 TDs

Depending on how long Jimmy Fryzel is sidelined, Rubin could emerge as a descent every week starter. Started at OS this week and showed everyone what he was capable of when given the opportunity. I also happen to like their schedule for the next couple of weeks. With the exception of Austin in week 9, the Preds should be able to move the ball down the field and score against some weak pass defenses.

QB Nick Browder - New York

Week 7 Stat Line: 21-39 222 yards, 5 TDs; 5 Rushes, 20 yards, TD

Another week, another Dragon’s QB goes down. Jason Wood’s injury last week in Austin opened the door for Nick Browder. The only thing he did was put up solid stats and SHOCK the Wranglers in their house. In a game where the Dragons were 10+ point underdogs, the guy lit up the Wrangler secondary and carried the Dragons to victory! He could be a fantasy force if he continues to play this well. With OS Kevin Swayne, WR/LB Mike Horacek, and WR/DB Chris Anthony at his disposal, he’s got the opportunity to produce some solid stats. A horrible Dragons defense means he will see the field, a lot!

WR/DB Mike Brown - Philadelphia

Week 7 Stat Line: 7 rec, 71 yards, 5 rec, 20 yards, 1 TD, 3 tackles

Brown had his most all around productive day since being off the injured list. The thing you have to like about Brown is his rushing stats for a WR/DB. Now that OS Marcus Knight has been cut, that means more opportunities for this kid. He was the most targeted receiver Monday night against KC, so Graziani is looking his way. He also tied with FB Chad Dukes in rushing attempts. Philly is definitely trying to get this kid involved. Consider yourself lucky if he’s available on your waiver wire and grab him immediately.

DS Johnny Harris - Grand Rapids

Week 7 Stat Line: 5 tackles, 1 sack

Let me introduce everyone to a guy going under the radar in most leagues but is having a productive year. His name is Johnny Harris. Harris for the season has 33 tackles, 4 Int’s and a sack. That’s an average of 5.5 tackles a for the six games he has started. Throw in 4 Int’s and you’ve got your self a solid DS. He should be available in most leagues, so if you’re looking for some DS help in your lineup, introduce yourself to Mr. Johnnie Harris, and insert him into your lineup immediately!
