The Stat Guy's Pickups for Week 7
WR Buchie Ibeh - Chicago
Week 6 Stat Line: 4 Rec, 48 yds, 3 TDs, 1 tackle
Don't hurt yourself trying to pronounce this guy's name! He's been on fire the past two weeks, and is quickly making people forget the name Etu Molden. Does not get a lot of tackles, but who cares? How quick does 12 receptions, 150 yards, and 6 TD's in the past two weeks make you forget about that? Don't be afraid to grab this guy if he's on your waiver wire!
WR Timon Marshall - Grand Rapids
Week 6 Stat Line: 9 Rec, 93 yds, 1 TD
It is now time to pick up Marshall. He's been flying under the radar screen the past couple of weeks, and his stats keep improving as he becomes more involved in the offense. The injured Josh Bush may have a hard time keeping his starting gig and the injury to OS Aaron Bailey is keeping Timon on the field!! Grab Timon NOW!!!
WR JJ McKelvey - Philadelphia
Week 6 Stat Line: 2 Rec, 62 yds, 2 TDs
Mark it down right now!! JJ McKelvey will be a superstar in the AFL soon. This stud is on the verge becoming Rookie of the Year in the AFL. He has freakish size at 6'4, 254 lbs and reminds me of Derrick Lee, who last year earned the nickname "Baby Moss." J-Mac has been on a TD roll lately posting seven in the last three weeks!! Don't walk, RUN to the waiver wire and pick up Double-J immediately!!
OS Steve Smith - Kansas City
Week 6 Stat Line: 11 Rec, 124 yds, 4 TDs
Beware!!! There has been a Steve Smith sighting!! Since Smith has consistently been a solid OS for teams he has played on, Andy Kelly has some explaining to do!! Did it take 5 weeks (and one half) to get this guy the ball? Kelly threw 4 TD's in the second half of the lost to Tampa last week... was it a coincidence that all four went to Stevo? Could this actually be some chemistry brewing between Kelly and Smith? A lot of people may have given up on this guy. Not me!! Grab him while you can!! I feel a second half surge for Smitty!!
QB Jason Fife - Las Vegas
Week 6 Stat Line: 18 for 28 passing, 174 yards, 5 TDs, 6 rushes for 34 yards, 1 TD
Every fantasy team needs a QB that can Run Baby Run!! And while he's no Michael Bishop, he's at least starting!! Fife has shined in the last two weeks in place of the injured Whelihan and racked up 39 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs. He also happens to be playing catch with some stud named, ahem, Marcus Nash. Nash is third in the league in Receptions, Yards, and TDs. Yea, I'd want to be the QB throwing to this guy!! Monitor this closely as Whelihan nurses himself back into health. Picking up Fife is a gamble, but if you're in need of a QB, you could do worse.
