The Stat Guy's Pickups for Week 13
Lynarise Elpheage WR (TB)
Week 12 Stat Line: 5 receptions, 42 yards, 1 TD, 8 tackles, 1 INT
If you took my advice and picked this guy up and put him into your lineup, he promptly delivered your fantasy team 33 points! It’s a safe bet this guy is still available on your league waiver wire, so I would definitely give this kid a shot. I don't like the Week 13 matchup on the road against Orlando however, in Weeks 14 and 15, the Storm have the KC Brigade and Columbus Destroyers, which are excellent starts for Elpheage.
Woody Dantzler WR (Chicago)
Week 12 Stat Line: 8 receptions for 106 yards, and 2 TDs
Chicago WR Woody Dantzler is slowly starting to figure out how to be a WR in the AFL. For the second week in a row, Dantzler produced two TDs and increased his yardage total. He seemed to be a favorite target of new starting QB Michael Bishop, which translates into some serious fantasy points. Chicago's next three opponents (Las Vegas, Georgia and San Jose) all love to put points on the board, so the Rush will need to keep pace. Dantzler could be a nice surprise for fantasy teams down the stretch.
Michael Bishop QB (Chicago)
Week 12 Stat Line: 333 yards passing, 6 TDs, 6 rushes for 19 yards
Could this guy possibly be available on the waiver wire? The Michael Bishop Circus Sideshow finally arrived in Week 12. Bishop finally got the start after losing his starting gig to now backup QB Matt D'Orazio. Bishop was the number one overall pick at the beginning of a lot of AFL fantasy drafts. Even in the loss to Arizona, Bishop looked sharp passing while racking up rushing yards, which is the one reason why you want this guy starting. As mentioned in the Woody Dantzler's profile above, the schedule for the Rush is very favorable and Bishop could produce some big time points down the stretch.
Junior Lord WR (Las Vegas)
Week 12 Stat Line: 9 receptions, 100 yards, 1 TD
It's time for Junior Lord to be grabbed off the waiver wire. He has been taking away catches from OS Marcus Nash and WR Joe Douglas now for the last two weeks, and Lord will make a mighty fine third receiver on a fantasy team. Las Vegas plays on the road against a Chicago Rush team which allowed seven TDs to Arizona QB Shedrick Bonner. Jason Fife seems to have found some confidence in Lord, which means fantasy points. And that's what we're all playing for, isn't it?
