The Stat Guy's Pickups for Week 12
Aaron Boone WR (KC)
Week 11 Stat Line: 13 receptions, 157 yards, 5 TDs
Sound the Alarm Folks! This guy should be grabbed immediately. Boone followed up Week 10’s performance of 11 receptions, 129 yards, and two TDs with an even better one in Week 11. I mentioned this guy last week in my Pickups, and I hope people took notice. Pat yourself on the back if you grabbed him last week as I advised. Give yourself five pats (the number of TDs he scored this past week) if you picked him up and started him in Week 11. The KC offense is rolling right now, and Boone’s play is the reason why.
Chris Sanders QB (KC)
Week 11 Stat Line: 265 yards passing, 7 TDs; 11 yards rushing, 1 TD
Speaking of the Kansas City offense rolling, Sanders has now turned in three solid performances in a row and is approaching must start territory. Kansas City plays a poor Colorado defense at home in Week 12, so as long as Sanders does not throw any passes towards Crush DS Rashad Floyd, (three INTs in Week 11) he should be able to post some solid stats. If Sanders is available in your league don't only pick him up, but throw him into your lineup. He's a solid play this week in front of the home crowd.
Wes Ours RB (Philadelphia)
Week 11 Stat Line: 5 rushes, 12 yards, 2 TDs, one tackle
Ours has been making a habit of getting into the endzone the past couple of weeks. Even though he's splitting carries with FB Chad Dukes, Ours is getting more carries and being more productive. Ours now has four TDs in the last three weeks and his size (6'0" 295 lbs) makes it hard for defenders to drag this bull down. Philadelphia loves to run the ball, and with Graziani's hamstring injury they may run the ball even more. Philly plays a good Nashville defense in Week 12, but I expect Ours to find pay dirt at least once.
Alonzo Nix OS (Nashville)
Week 11 Stat Line: 5 receptions, 96 yards, 1 TD, 1 KO Return for a TD
Another guy flying under the radar, Alonzo Nix came through for the second week in a row. The Kats have been looking for an OS the whole year and they may have found their guy. He was the most targeted receiver in the Kat's win on Sunday. With QB Clint Stoerner now back from injury the Kats are starting to get stronger, and the coming schedule highlights weak teams such as KC, Grand Rapids, and the LA Avengers. Nix has now proven that he's worth a roster spot. It looks as though five to six catches, 100 yards, and a TD per game could be the ceiling for this guy, so temper your expectations.
Lynarise Elpheage WR (TB)
Week 11 Stat Line: 5 receptions, 37 yards, 1 TD, 5 tackles
You have to love players who play both sides of the ball with a passion. That's what you get with Elpheage. He almost guarantees you points on the defensive side of the ball and is starting to get involved within the offense. Elpheage is apparently the player Tampa Bay had in mind to replace WR Bobby Sippio when they cut him loose. Elpheage will produce on both sides of the field, which is hard to find fantasywise in the AFL.
