Sit 'em and Start 'em for Week 8

Last week we told you to start Jason Fife (46 fantasy points), Marcus Nash (28 FPs) and Rashad Floyd (24 FPs) and advised you to sit Derek Lee (15 FPs) and Bo Kelly (zero FPs).

This week, we have more player recommendations for you, based on performance, matchup and intuition.

Clint Dolezel - Las Vegas
Most would have argued that Dallas was the best team in the league prior to last week’s demolition of Tampa; now it is very hard to dispute. Dolezel has been absolutely superb, calls his own plays, has weapons galore and Orlando are ripe for a sound thrashing. Smile, Clint, smile.

Other quarterbacks with favorable matchups:  Mark Grieb (San Jose) vs Georgia, Matt Nagy (Georgia) vs San Jose, Jason Fife (Las Vegas) vs Arizona, John Dutton (Colorado) vs Los Angeles

Joe Hamilton - Orlando
Orlando’s Joe Hamilton put up huge numbers last week, but I still see this as a veneer over a weak Orlando offense. Their receiving corp is one dimensional and they face the awesome Desperados defense, which shut down the Storm last week. Hate to harp on Joe, but look elsewhere.

Other quarterbacks with unfavorable matchups:  Leon Murray (Nashville) vs Chicago, Andy Kelly (Kansas City) vs Austin, Nick Browder (New York) vs Tampa Bay, Tony Graziani (Philadelphia) vs Columbus

Marcus Knight - Columbus
Funny how much can change in one week. Knight was our Sit 'em recommendation last week, but has switched clubs to the Columbus Destroyers after getting cut by the Soul. His first game is against his former club and I expect they'll regret the decision to let him go.

Other Offensive Specialists with favorable matchups:  Marcus Nash (Las Vegas) vs Arizona, Damien Harrell (Colorado) vs Los Angeles, Chris Jackson (Georgia) vs San Jose, Derrick Lewis (Austin) vs Kansas City, Tony Locke (Los Angeles) vs Colorado

Siaha Burley - Utah
What has the world become lately? Without Joe Germaine at full strength, Burley was merely mortal last week. This week, it's Jason Gesser at QB, and who knows what he's capable of? I know this is like selling your molars, but if you have another option besides Burley, use him this week.

Other Offensive Specialists with unfavorable matchups:  Steve Smith (Kansas City) vs Austin, TT Toliver (Nashville) vs Chicago, CJ Johnson (Chicago) vs Nashville, Kevin Swayne (New York) vs Tampa Bay

Kevin Ingram - Los Angeles
Always I'm a little leery of picking a player on my squad, Kevin has been absolutely stellar all year, consistently giving a boat load of points every game. So why call for him to start this week, when it’s so bleeding obvious? Well my tea-leaves reliably inform me that Kevin is gonna romp to a 40-point haul this week and given that LA are facing the excellent Colorado Crush, that would be no mean feat.

Other Wide Receivers with favorable matchups:  James Roe (San Jose) vs Georgia, Anthony Hines (Grand Rapids) vs Utah, Derek Lee (Georgia) vs San Jose, Jamin Elliot (Georgia) vs San Jose, Kevin Nickerson (Austin) vs Kansas City, Randy Gatewood (Arizona) vs Las Vegas

Corey Fleming - Nashville
Fleming has been a huge disappointment all season and now he loses QB Clint Stoerner for a few weeks. He is also listed as questionable due to a concussion even though the Kats say he'll play. Fleming is a great player, but don’t see his season turning round any time soon. All in all, give your backup a chance.

Other Wide Receivers with unfavorable matchups:  Lawrence Samuels (Tampa Bay) vs New York, Jerrian James (Orlando) vs Dallas, Tom Pace (Utah) vs Grand Rapids, Sean Scott (Philadelphia) vs Columbus

Chad Dukes - Philadelphia
Dukes has scored four weeks in a row and plays for a Philadelphia team that has it's trouble with the pass. Chad will get about 5 carries a week and for a FB, that's huge.

Other Fullbacks with favorable matchups:  Robert Thomas (Georgia) vs San Jose, Phil Glover (San Jose) vs Georgia, Duke Pettijohn (Dallas) vs Orlando, Bob McMillen (Chicago) vs Nashville

Marlon Moye-Moore - Orlando
Marlon went from the penthouse to the outhouse last week. Now come the best defense in the AFL in the Dallas Desperados. Ouch, Marlon.

Other Fullbacks with unfavorable matchups:  Frank Carter (Nashville) vs Chicago, Josh White (Dallas) vs Orlando, Kevin Clemens (Utah) vs Grand Rapids

Antuan Simmons - Las Vegas
Since returning from injury, Simmon has recorded 16 solo tackles in 2 games. With the Crush coming to the City of Angels, Simmons will be very busy.

Other Defensive Specialists with favorable matchups:  Rashad Floyd (Colorado) vs Los Angeles, Jeroid Johnson (Orlando) vs Dallas, Denario Smalls (Kansas City) vs Austin, Kahlil Carter (Orlando) vs Dallas, Kevin Gaines (Philadelphia) vs Columbus

TJ Hill - Las Vegas
Hill was amazing to start the season but has slowed down considerably. A quad injury makes him a question mark for this week. Look elsewhere.

Other Defensive Specialists with unfavorable matchups:  Tramain Jones (Tampa Bay) vs New York, Terrance Joseph (San Jose) vs Georgia, Johnnie Harris (Grand Rapids) vs Utah

Brian Schmitz - San Jose
The Sabercats are scoring in buckets and Schmitz is one of the most accurate kickers in the AFL. If the Georgia D can force a few FG attempts, Schmitz may end up with a double-digit day.

Other Kickers with favorable matchups:  Carlos Martinez (Dallas) vs Orlando, Remy Hamilton (Los Angeles) vs Colorado, Peter Martinez (Grand Rapids) vs Utah, Todd Sievers (Austin) vs Kansas City

MacKenzie Hoambrecker - Kansas City
WHO? The new kicker for the Brigade will find out that it's hard to score points when your team's offense smells like stagnant pond water.

Other Kickers with unfavorable matchups: Jay Taylor (Orlando) vs Dallas, Nelson Garner (Georgia) vs San Jose, Dan Frantz (Chicago) vs Nashville
