Sit 'em and Start 'em for Week 13
Last week we told you to start Sonny Cumbie (37 fantasy points), Randy Gatewood (47 FPs) and Frank Carter (9 FPs) and advised you to sit Clint Stoerner (20 FPs), Timon Marshall (18 FPs) and CJ Johnson (0 FPs).
This week, we have more player recommendations for you, based on performance, matchup and intuition.

Nick Browder - New York Bowder has been very solid in the absence of the injured Aaron Garcia and now comes up against the free-falling Avengers. The Avengers have lost 4 straight, and over the last 10 games have leaked an impressive 622 points. Los Angeles have very useful offensive players and score well every game, but their defense cannot stop anyone. Browder will continue to look for the extremely productive receiving duo of Horacek and Swayne and you can expect the Dragons to find the end zone regularly. |
Other quarterbacks with favorable matchups: Mark Grieb (San Jose) vs Austin, Michael Bishop (Chicago) vs Las Vegas, Sherdrick Bonner (Arizona) vs Grand Rapids, John Dutton (Colorado) vs Utah, Sonny Cumbie (Los Angeles) vs New York |

John Kaleo - Nashville Kaleo and Columbus travel to Philadelphia in Week 13. The two met in week 8 where the Destroyers lived up to their name, humiliating the Soul 53-20. Columbus are one of the most difficult teams to pin down. In 5 of their 12 games they have failed to reach 40 points, but in the other 7 have scored freely. Philly rebounded well from the week 8 loss, going 3 and 1, including a very impressive win in Dallas. The Soul defense is among the best in the league, conceding 43ppg over the last 6 weeks. I think that Philly will exorcise the specter of their earlier defeat and force Kaleo into errors. |
Other quarterbacks with unfavorable matchups: Matt Nagy (Georgia) vs Dallas, Shane Stafford (Tampa Bay) vs Orlando, Chris Sanders (Kansas City) vs Nashville, Ryan Van Dyke (Grand Rapids) vs Arizona |
Bobby Sippio - Chicago Well, well. Only 7 short days after denigrating the Rush (in particular the QB and OS), I am eating humble pie and begging their forgiveness. Michael Bishop was excellent in Week 12, and just after I submitted my recommendation they activated Bobby Sippio to become their new OS. Sippio responded like a true star. The Rush are a feeble 1 and 6 in the last 7 weeks, but they are back in the Windy City up against the defensively generous Gladiators. I'm not going to go crazy and actually predict a Rush victory, but Sippio looks like a great choice for OS. |
Other Offensive Specialists with favorable matchups: Marcus Nash (Las Vegas) vs Chicago, Kevin Swayne (New York) vs Los Angeles, Damien Harrell (Colorado) vs Utah, Ben Nelson (San Jose) vs Austin, Tony Locke (Los Angeles) vs New York |
Freddie Solomon - Tampa Bay Freddie has been consistent without being a fantasy stud. Tampa Bay travel to Orlando for a crucial Southern conference matchup. Unfortunately for the Storm, the Predator's lair is not a fun place to visit. Only Dallas have left with a win. Orlando frequently stifle opponents and Tampa are not the best travelers (their only road wins are at Grand Rapids and Kansas City). Gonna be lean pickins for Mr. Solomon, I fear. |
Other Offensive Specialists with unfavorable matchups: Chris Jackson (Georgia) vs Dallas, Derrick Lewis (Austin) vs San Jose, Jerel Myers (Kansas City) vs Nashville, Anthony Hines (Grand Rapids) vs Arizona |
Aaron Boone - Kansas City Again I am guilty of jumping the band-wagon instead of predicting the trend. But Boone's form and fantasy points cannot be overlooked. He is tall, has good hands and can take a hit. The Brigade are much improved and you can expect Boone to be a regular star for the remainder of the season. |
Other Wide Receivers with favorable matchups: James Roe (San Jose) vs Austin, Randy Gatewood (Arizona) vs Grand Rapids, Kevin Ingram (Los Angeles) vs New York, Mike Horacek (New York) vs Los Angeles, Will Pettis (Dallas) vs Georgia |
Tom Pace - Utah Andy Kelly rolled back the years with an awesome debut for the Blaze. He'll find a visit to the Crush a more daunting prospect and with Burley and Bryant as first and second choice receivers, Tom Pace will not figure significantly in the Week 13 highlight reel. |
Other Wide Receivers with unfavorable matchups: Josh Bush (Grand Rapids) vs Arizona, Derek Lee (Georgia) vs Dallas, Sean Scott (Philadelphia) vs Columbus, Lawrence Samuels (Tampa Bay) vs Orlando |
Marlon Moye-Moore - Orlando Orlando look a good bet at home to the Storm and Moye-Moore is in fine form. He's scored in four straight games, which is outstanding consistency for a FB and the Predators will try to control the ground versus their arch-rivals.
Other Fullbacks with favorable matchups: Frank Carter (Nashville) vs Kansas City, Kevin Clemens (Utah) vs Colorado, Dan Alexander (Nashville) vs Kansas City, Lonnie Ford (Los Angeles) vs New York |
Chris Avery - Grand Rapids The visit of the Rattlers is sure to be a tough game for the struggling Rampage and one might have expected them to turn to their in-form FB Avery. However, Avery picked this week to lose his suspension appeal and will be sitting this one out. The timing of it all gives me an odd feeling in my gut, which cannot be entirely attributed to the birayani I nuked for breakfast. |
Other Fullbacks with unfavorable matchups: Bob McMillen (Chicago) vs Las Vegas, Duke Pettijohn (Dallas) vs Georgia, Phil Glover (San Jose) vs Austin |
Eddie Moten - Philadelphia I've picked the Soul to beat the Destroyers and I think Eddie's ferocious tackling will be one of the reasons for the win. He's had two weeks of double-digit scoring and this one makes three. |
Other Defensive Specialists with favorable matchups: Chris Brown (Georgia) vs Dallas, Rashad Floyd (Colorado) vs Utah, Jermaine Jones (Dallas) vs Georgia, DeShane Dennis (New York) vs Los Angeles |
Damon Mason - Austin He is such a good DS that he is hard to sit. But Austin's macthup at San Jose is not going to be one of his better weeks. San Jose's offense is well balanced and keeps you guessing. Mason will be chasing Ben Nelson and James Roe around all night, and that spells struggle. |
Other Defensive Specialists with unfavorable matchups: Clevan Thomas (San Jose) vs Austin, Jonathan Ordway (Tampa Bay) vs Orlando, Kenny McEntyre (Orlando) vs Tampa Bay, Chris Pointer (Kansas City) vs Nashville |
Clay Rush - Colorado Rush is a solid kicker and Colorado are playing well. He is a fine first choice for your fantasy squad and may even get to attempt more FGs now that Colorado has locked up a playoff berth. |
Other Kickers with favorable matchups: Brian Schmitz (San Jose) vs Austin, Remy Hamilton (Los Angeles) vs New York, Mark Lewis (Columbus) vs Philadelphia, Carlos Martinez (Dallas) vs Georgia |
Gary Kral - Arizona Nothing wrong with Kral as a kicker, but the Rampage tend to concede TDs, thus reducing the number of field-goal attempts. Kral has been a surprise consistent performer, but there are better choices this week. |
Other Kickers with unfavorable matchups: Jesse Obert (New York) vs Los Angeles, Keith Gispert (Chicago) vs Las Vegas, Nelson Garner (Georgia) vs Dallas |
