Sit 'em and Start 'em for Week 11
Last week we told you to start Matt Nagy (29 fantasy points), Robert Thomas (13 FPs) and James Roe (43 FPs) and advised you to sit Brian Johnson (6 FPs) and CJ Johnson (14 FPs).
This week, we have more player recommendations for you, based on performance, matchup and intuition.

Shane Stafford - Tampa Bay Stafford continues to please owners with 8 (eight!) TDs last week. His matchup sees the visit of the Sabercats to Tampa Bay. San Jose are 2-4 on the road conceding more than 50ppg in the process. The Storm are 4-2 at home and if you permit me to exclude the bludgeoning at the hands of Dallas (when they scored only 35) they average more than 60ppg in Tampa. |
Other quarterbacks with favorable matchups: Mark Grieb (San Jose) vs Tampa Bay, Clint Dolezel (Dallas) vs New York, John Dutton (Colorado) vs Grand Rapids, Sonny Cumbie (Los Angeles) vs Kansas City |
Matt D'Orazio - Chicago Presumably will put up better numbers than last week’s horror-show at the hands of the Predators. However a tricky trip to Philly is not likely to be the rebound experience he is looking for. The Rush are 1-3 on their travels, while the Soul are 3-2 at home, but have a habit of keeping their opponents offense stifled (4 of those 5 games saw fewer than 50 points conceded, including two in the low 30s). |
Other quarterbacks with unfavorable matchups: Jason Fife (Las Vegas) vs Nashville, Joe Hamilton (Orlando) vs Columbus, Nick Browder (New York) vs Dallas, Leon Murray (Nashville) vs Las Vegas |
Chris Jackson - Georgia Georgia have been consistently high scoring all season. Only failing to reach 50 in week 1 (when they scored 48). Jackson has been a big part of this success. A tricky trip to Austin is not ideal, but the Force came close to beating the Wranglers earlier in the season, going down 53-52. Austin might have the edge, but Jackson will not let you down. |
Other Offensive Specialists with favorable matchups: Freddie Solomon (Tampa Bay) vs San Jose, Damien Harrell (Colorado) vs Grand Rapids, Terrill Shaw (Dallas) vs New York, Ben Nelson (San Jose) vs Tampa Bay |
Kevin Swayne - New York Tough call this one. NY host Dallas (whom I still believe to be the best team in the league), yet the Dragons are much improved after struggling early in the season. With backup Nick Browder likely to start under center (Aaron Garcia is listed as doubtful), I think that Swayne will underachieve. It might be a good week for your backup to get a start. |
Other Offensive Specialists with unfavorable matchups: Siaha Burley (Utah) vs Arizona, CJ Johnson (Chicago) vs Philadelphia, Carl Bond (Columbus) vs Orlando, Marcus Nash (Las Vegas) vs Nashville |
Willis Marshall - Colorado Good match up for the Crush, who got straight back into winning ways (season high 77 points against the Kats) after their debacle (season low 21 points) against the Destroyers. The Rampage have started to show their true colors (that is, hopeless) with only one win in the last 6 starts. Willis has been solid, but with Harrell in the team rarely puts up big numbers. I figure the Rampage will focus their defense on Harrell, leaving Marshall open to have his best week of the season. |
Other Wide Receivers with favorable matchups: James Roe (San Jose) vs Tampa Bay, Will Pettis (Dallas) vs New York, Kevin Ingram (Los Angeles) vs Kansas City, Mike Brown (Philadelphia) vs Chicago, Randy Gatewood (Arizona) vs Utah |
Orshawante Bryant - Utah What the Blazes is going on in Utah? After a very promising start, and with Siaha Burley playing well, teh Blaze have only one win in the last 5 outings. Both Bryant and Pace have been steady contributors, but the visit of the "4 wins from 5 games" Arizona Rattlers spells more trouble for Utah. |
Other Wide Receivers with unfavorable matchups: Josh Bush (Grand Rapids) vs Colorado, Mike Horacek (New York) vs Dallas, Joe Douglass (Las Vegas) vs Nashville |
Lonnie Ford - Los Angeles Last week the Brigade let up three rushing TDs, which doesn't stray far from the norm against them. This week, expect the Avengers to give Ford a few more chances in close to shorten the game.
Other Fullbacks with favorable matchups: Kevin Clemens (Utah) vs Arizona, Josh White (Dallas) vs New York, Harold Wells (Columbus) vs Orlando |
Bob McMillen - Chicago Since Week 3 when he scored 17 fantasy points, McMillen has had a total of 22 points. That's slightly over 3.5 points per game. The Rush just aren't running the ball and Philadelphia will try to keep it that way. |
Other Fullbacks with unfavorable matchups: Robert Thomas (Georgia) vs Austin, Rodney Filer (Las Vegas) vs Nashville, Chris Avery (Grand Rapids) vs Colorado |
Brandon Hefflin - Columbus Hefflin was having a decent season and then suddenly became a tackling machine. Weeks of 13 and 10 tackles shows that Hefflin's getting more involved. Expect more of the same this week. |
Other Defensive Specialists with favorable matchups: Rashad Floyd (Colorado) vs Grand Rapids, Hamin Milligan (Dallas) vs New York, Damon Mason (Austin) vs Georgia, Jonathan Ordway (Tampa Bay) vs San Jose |
Jeremy Unertl - Chicago Unertl was on a roll, then came up with two completely pedestrian weeks (11 and 6 fantasy points). Philadelphia will work hard to stay away from Unertl and pound the ball on the ground, leading to fewer chances and fewer points. |
Other Defensive Specialists with unfavorable matchups: Johnnie Harris (Grand Rapids) vs Colorado, Denario Smalls (Kansas City) vs Los Angeles, DeShane Dennis (New York) vs Dallas |
Carlos Martinez - Dallas He plays in the most prolific offense in the league, has the accuracy to hit 50-yard FGs and his team faces up against the cheesecloth defense of the Dragons. Sounds like a winner to me. |
Other Kickers with favorable matchups: Bill Gramatica (Tampa Bay) vs San Jose, Remy Hamilton (Los Angeles) vs Las Vegas, Gary Kral (Arizona) vs Utah, Mark Lewis (Columbus) vs Orlando |
Peter Martinez - Grand Rapids There's not much difference between Peter and Carlos, with the exception that Peter's team has fallen flat and now must face the Crush. Temper expectations for certain. |
Other Kickers with unfavorable matchups: Jesse Obert (New York) vs Dallas, Keith Gispert (Chicago) vs Philadelphia, Todd Sievers (Austin) vs Georgia |
